If you are humble enough to know your limitations, smart enough to not tag along to the local crag with untested climbers, and generally thirsty for knowledge, this is the trip for you! The only prerequisite for this workshop is the ability to belay in a top rope environment.
In this class we will build on the knowledge you gained in your Level I Rock Climbing Anchors and Rescue class (a prerequisite for this course).
We'll work through additional knots and hitches, learn and practice leverage systems. You will learn safe rappelling techniques for individuals as well as tandem rappels with a second person and rappelling with incapacitated climbers. You will learn techniques for passing knots whether its while on rappel or when lowering an injured climber. We provide all the tools and equipment you need. Our only requirement is that you come prepared to THINK.
This workshop focuses on the skills and techniques that you will need to enter the realm of multi pitch rock climbing.
We'll start by addressing some of the bad habits that are common with beginning multi pitch climbers.
This workshop focuses on traditional climbing techniques and gear placements.
A variety of topics will be covered, including a thorough review of gear. We'll examine active and passive placements, strategies for retrieving gear as well as discuss the geology and structure of the rock and how that plays into the decision process when placing protection in traditional climbing.
These courses are designed to help you improve quickly and efficiently. Each package includes an evaluation and program planning session, which helps the instructor gage your current skill as a climber and provides an opportunity to work 1-on-1 to create a plan that will help you reach your goals.
Typical programs will focus on a variety of techniques, which may include footwork, balance and movement, moves that conserve energy, power moves, reading a route, resting throughout a climb, strength and endurance.
This is a hands-on, walking photography workshop. We will work individually, as well as in small groups, to both set up and practice taking great shots. Getting to know your camera's functionality, and putting that knowledge into practice under the watchful eye of an instructor, will give you the tools you need to capture and share memories for many years to come.
Our youth climbing program is designed to help the child develop their climbing skills in a fun and safe learning environment. More than climbing technique, we address the mental and physical strengthening needed for a lifetime of climbing!
