Our destination this weekend is the most undeveloped and remote portion of the California coast, the Lost Coast. 24 miles of pristine coastline, seemingly untouched by man, this wilderness will set us free.

Why this trip is unique, the flora/fauna that you may see and any historical aspects that you may want to talk about. 


WHAT IS INCLUDED: 
Professionally trained and certified climbing guides; park fees; climbing equipment (ropes, anchor systems, helmets, harness, shoes, belay devices)
WHAT TO BRING:
 
Water (2-liters); lunch/snacks; tip for your guides; sunscreen; sun glasses; sun hat
WHAT TO WEAR:
Comfortable athletic clothing; sneakers
LOCATION:
The specific location for climbing will be determined based upon the group's climbing abilities and weather conditions. Our favorite climbing locations are within 1.5 hours drive of downtown San Francisco.
TIMING:
If you've chosen the transportation add-on, then we'll be departing at 7:00AM. 

 

If you've chosen to drive yourself, then we'll send you driving directions and will meet you at the cliffs at 8:30AM.

 

 



  • A portion of the fees for each reservation is given to the parks department for conservation and sustainability. We appreciate your willingness to be a part of the effort to conserve our wild resources so that others can enjoy them after us. 

ITINERARY

  • DAY 1: Arrive in Reykjavik and transfer to hotel
  • DAY 2: Depart Reykjavik for Landmannalaugar, trek to Hrafntinnusker
  • DAY 3: Trek from Hrafntunnusker to Álftavatn

PHYSICAL PREPARATION

To be fully prepared for this trip and really enjoy yourself, you will need to take your training seriously. Engaging in as many long, hard hikes as possible is a great way to prepare for your trek. Experience carrying a 35lb backpack several days in a row is a must. Participants should be mentally and physically prepared for strenuous activities in adverse weather conditions. HOW TO PACK

Please find a full pack list here. From this list you can choose to purchase the items, but mostly we just want you to get a visual of the type of product that you will need to have. Keep in mind that cotton materials should not be brought on this trip.
